Our Centre caters for up to 74 Children each day in 4 separate groups
“The great thing about community based children’s centres is that the parent fees all go towards the running of the centre and providing a stimulating environment for the children.”
The centre was purpose built in 1987, and is owned by the Department of Education and Child Development. As a not for profit incorporated service we are fortunate to be able to use the centre, and to further develop it according to the needs of the children and families.
All Educators endeavour to support parents and carers by providing information, advice when sought, with positive, open communication. Children’s progress and learning is recorded on the OWNA app and is available for parents/carers to view at any time.
The Centre is managed by a Governing Council consisting of parents/carers, staff and interested community members. This Governing Council is responsible for decision-making, policy setting, employment of staff and other important issues that affect the Centre. Families are encouraged to participate in the Centre’s management, development, services and programs.
We value the National Quality Framework and Quality Improvement process as it provides an ongoing opportunity to assess and improve our practices.
The centres policies are available upon request.

Continual Improvement
The centres Governing Council aim to continually improve the centre to better accommodate children’s and families needs, and support our early learning curriculum.
Each age group has a separate garden designed specifically for that age and incorporating many natural features. Our gardens have many shaded areas to protect the children from the sun during outdoor play. We have incorporated natural surfaces wherever possible including real grass, bark, rocks and sand.
We have planned garden areas specifically to encourage children’s active play and exploration. We also have large sheds full of outdoor equipment allowing us to vary the outdoor environment according to the children’s needs and interests.
We recently added a large veranda area to our front garden providing us with more shelter for extended outdoor learning opportunities.
